Abstract
Study design: Descriptive study
Purpose: To determine feasibility of teleophthalmology in detecting retinal diseases among tribal population
Methods: Fundus photography was done by trained technicians at Keylong and images sent by internet to base hospital, where they were evaluated by ophthalmologists.
Results : A number of retinal diseases could be identified correctly including diabetic retinopathy and vascular occlusions
Conclusion: This model of teleophthalmology was found to be feasible in tribal areas
