Abstract

Study design: prospective study
purpose: To discuss indications, complications and evaluation of visual outcomes of SLET.
Methods: The study conducted at department of ophthalmology at tertiary care centre .12 patients were selected from routine OPD for assessment and were followed for 6 months.
Results: most common indication for SLET was chemical burn by liquid acid(41.6%) followed by lime injury (25%),chemical injury (16.6%),dry eye(8.4%).Complications at 3 months follow up were keratitis 3(25%), delayed epithelization in 2(16.6%),corneal vascularization, symblepharon, corneal opacity, and dry eye in 3(25%) patient. At 6 months follow up keratitis , epithelial defect, corneal vascularization, symblepharon, corneal opacity noted in each 1(12.5%) patients.
Conclusion: Pre-operative visual acuity HM-FCCF in 6 patients.1MFC-5MFC in 4 patients.6/60 in 2 patients
postoperatively visual outcome of majority of patients improved to 6/60-6/18-7(58%).>6/18-3(25%). <6/60-2(16.6%)
