Abstract

Blepharitis is a common clinical picture in an ophthalmology outpatient department. It is commonly associated with rosacea and Saborit keratopathy diseases. However systemic lupus erythematosus , a chronic autoimmune disease is rare to involve eyelids mimicking chronic blepharitis. We describe a case of 13 year old female child presenting as bilateral edematous lids with erythematosus , scaling lid margins with discharge associated with lower lip ulceration and Edema which are excerabated with sun exposure and diagnosed systemic lupus erythematosus.
