Abstract

STUDY DESIGN: Case report
PURPOSE: To report a case of bulbar conjunctival lesion with biopsy suggestive of squamous papilloma
METHOD: A 46 year-old male, presented with history of reddish growth in the lower portion of the white part of the right eye since the last 3 years, which progressively increased in size, gradually.
On ocular examination, blood work-up, excision and biopsy was done for the patient.
RESULT: On ocular examination, the patient had visual acuity of 6/6 in both eyes.
The right had two raised sessile lesions with gelatinous appearance in the bulbar conjunctiva in the inferior aspect. Each lesion had well defined margins with feeder vessels and vascular tufts. the rest of the anterior segment and fundus evaluation was normal. The fellow eye was within normal limits. Provisional diagnosis of conjunctival papilloma was made and the patient was advised excision and biopsy.
The biopsy report showed features suggestive of benign squamous papilloma of the conjunctiva.
