Abstract
Aim:To compare choroidal thickness on EDI-OCT and Anxiety scores between patients with CSCR versus normal controls.
Methodology:Patients in the age group of 18 to 55 years, presenting to retina clinic, newly diagnosed with CSCR and treatment naïve, were included in the study, as Group A (64). Age and gender matched normal controls having a normal fundus, were included as Group B (64). A questionnaire based on Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A)40 was administered to the patients diagnosed with CSCR and to controls by study coordinator. The scale consists of 14 items focusing on the symptoms of anxiety.
Results: 14% had mild anxiety scores while 75% of the controls had moderate scores.
Conclusion:Psychological stress is strongly associated with CSCR.
