Material and methods: 30 eyes of 25 patients with progressive keratoconus were included in this prospective study with 6 months follow up . Refraction, BCVA ,corneal topography were recorded at each visit.
Results
The mean age was 19.7 years (range 15-30 years) . The preoperative values were compared with postoperative values. BCVA improved up to 1 snellen line in 46.7% of eyes, up to 2 snellen line improvement in 30 % of eyes and remained stable in 23.3% of eyes. Astigmatism decreased by 1.49 diopter (D) in 76.7 % of eyes and remained stable in 23.3 % of eyes. Kmax value decreased by 2.22 D in 66.7 % of eyes, 1.20 D in 13.3% of eyes and remained stable in 20% of eyes. Stromal haze was seen in 80 % (24 /30) eyes ,sterile infiltrate was seen in 3.33% (1/30) and no reported cases of progression of keratoconus and corneal ectasia.
