Abstract
Purpose: Our aim is to study the IOP lowering of Netarsudil and Ripasudil in patients with primary open angle glaucoma. Study Design: Randomized, active controlled, parallel group study, conducted on 140 eyes from patients attending the Ophthalmology OPD meeting the criteria for Primary open angle glaucoma. Methodology: baseline patient parameters including IOP were assessed. The patients were then randomly allocated (table of random numbers), to receive either topical Netarsudil 0.02% once daily (Group A) or Ripasudil 0.4% twice daily (Group B) for a period of about 3 months. Students-t test was used to compare the data. Results: Statistically significant reduction in IOP at 3 months from the baseline IOP was noted with both Netarsudil (p = 0.002) and Ripasudil (p = 0.028).The average IOP at 3 months in Netarsudil group was significantly lower than in Ripasudil group (p = 0.008). Conclusion: Netarsudil is more effective in IOP lowering as compared to Ripasudil at 3 months.
