Abstract
Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of MIGS-BANG in severe POAG patients
Methods: This prospective interventional study was conducted at tertiary care university hospital in POAG eyes. A 26gauge needle was used to excise 30°of TM using intraoperative gonioscopy. These patients were followed upto 12months post operatively. The paired t- test was used to compare the data.
Results: 46 eyes of 39 patients were operated forBANGfollowed by phacoemulsification with VCDR 0.85:1. Preoperative mean IOP and number of anti-glaucoma medication was 17.96 ±5.9 mm of Hg and 3.71 ±1.12 respectively. At 12-month postoperative period mean IOP was significantly reduced to 11.95 ±1.49 mm of Hg (p =0.001) on 2.82 ±1.1 (p =0.001) topical anti-glaucoma medications. Reduction in ≥1 anti-glaucoma medications postoperatively at 12 months was 74% (34/46) of eyes
Conclusion: A 30-degreeBANG using a 26G Needle is safe and cost effective MIGS with favourable IOP outcomes Upto 1 year
