Abstract
AIM:the study is to assess the awareness,knowledge,willingness of eye donation among the postgraduates in a tertiary care hospital.This observational STUDY was conducted among 300 postgraduates working in tertiarycare hospitals.The participants will answer a structured questionnaire and results are analyzed.Inclusioncriteria:Postgraduates working in tertiary care hospitals willing to participate in the study.Exclusioncriteria:1)Postgraduates working in tertiary care hospitals not willing to participate.2)ophthalmology post graduates.RESULTS:Study revealed 93.25% awareness rate about eye donation,of which 64% attributed their awareness to media sources.Others:when are eyes donated(73.27%),optimal time for retrieval(61%),the next kin has the right to give consent for donation(55.7%),willing to donate(75%)and unwilling due to family and religion opposition.CONCLUSION:Findings of study showed overall data was good but more efforts are required to ensure knowledge is imparted to the public.
