Abstract
AIM: To identify the pattern and causes of uveitis in ophthalmological OPD of government medical college.
MATERIALS AND METHOD:
It is an observational cross sectional study. Records of 50 uveitis cases was evaluated and the demographic details of patient was collected and compiled in time duration of April 2022 to March 2023 (12 months). Standard clinical protocol and investigations were introduced to identify the specific pattern and causes of uveitis.
RESULT
Total 50 patients were evaluated for pattern of uveitis and to find underlying cause where maximum patients age group 31 to 60 years with female to male ratio is 1.38:1 and among them 50% were having anterior uveitis among which 66% were not diagnosed with any specific cause and found to be idiopathic in nature.
CONCLUSION
Anterior uveitis is the most common type found in Out Patient Department, among which maximum cases were idiopathic(66%) followed by infective cause(17%), immune related (13%) and traumatic uveitis(4%).
