Abstract
Introduction:This study aims to investigate the clinicopathological features of benign and malignant eyelid tumors in a tertiary care hospital.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 30 patients diagnosed with eyelid tumors in a tertiary care hospital. Demographic data, clinical presentation, and histopathological findings were collected. Statistical analysis, including chi-square test and t-test, was performed to evaluate the significance of differences observed between benign and malignant tumors.
Results: Of the 30 patients, 18 (60%) were diagnosed with benign eyelid tumors, while 12 (40%) had malignant tumors. The most common benign tumor was squamous papilloma (n=8, 44.4%), while basal cell carcinoma (n=6, 50%) was the predominant malignant tumor. Clinical presentation varied, with eyelid swelling (n=14, 46.7%) and ulceration (n=8, 26.7%) being the most frequent symptoms.
