Abstract

Aim of study: To study the factors affecting spontaneous regression of retinopathy of prematurity in premature infants delivered at a tertiary care hospital
Methodology:It is a retrospective study over a period of two years
Infants who were prematurely born and under follow up for ROP changes at Government general hospital,kakinada
All the infants underwent detailed fundus examination with indirect Ophthalmoscopy and Retcam
Results:Out of 1100 premature infants screened,436 were found to have stage I,II .Of them 370 had spontaneous regression over a two year period of follow up with various antenatal, perinatal postnatal factors affecting it.
Conclusion:There is maximum percentage of spontaneous regression with strong association of antenatal,perinatal, postnatal factors.
