METHODS-Data related to chief complaint, associated systemic disease, visual acuity, anterior segment findings, fundus evaluation ,colour vision and specific blood investigations ,MRI/CT ,B scan wherever necessary.
RESULTS- There were 50 patients in the study. Optic disc edema was detected bilaterally in 15 patients, unilateral in 35 patients in which females have more preponderance of optic disc edema. Patients presented mostly with Diminution of vision and headaches.Etiology varying from Infective and conditions, inflammatory ,Idiopathic intracranial hypertension and systemic comorbidities.
CONCLUSION-The presence of optic disc edema should be evaluated in patients with utmost priority . The early diagnosis with fundoscopy may intervene the progression of the visual morbidity and increase the visual acuity with the correct treatment
