Abstract
Purpose- The purpose of this study is to magnify the importance of prompt clinical evaluation and B scan in diagnosing the disease and visual outcome after steroid treatment.
Method – The hospital outpatient record was reviewed in patients to determine the information regarding the age, sex, presenting complaints of the patient, BCVA at time of presentation, slitlamp findings, intraocular pressure, fundus findings were noted. Investigations were done and response to treatment and follow up was recorded.
Result- The age in the patients ranged from 20 to 45 years. The presenting complaint among these patients was variable decrease of vision associated with moderate to severe ocular pain. Both anterior and posterior segments had different clinical presentations. Ultrasonography showed variable degree of thickening of the posterior eye wall, associated with edema in the retrobulbar space.
Conclusion- Management of posterior scleritis is less challenging in contrast to the diagnosis.
