Abstract

Aim:To compare choroidal thickness on EDI-OCT between patients with CSCR versus normal controls.
Methodology:Patients in the age group of 18 to 55 years, presenting to retina clinic, newly diagnosed with CSCR and treatment naïve, were included in the study, as Group A (64). Age and gender matched normal controls having a normal fundus, were included as Group B (64). Slit lamp examination of anterior chamber and fundus examination was performed. All these participants underwent EDI-OCT scanning.
Results: 86.7% were males and 13.3%, females, with mean age of 39 years.The mean choroidal thickness in CSCR eyes was 495 microns, fellow eyes was 450 microns, and controls was 301 microns. 95% of CSCR eyes and 90% fellow eyes had pachychoroid. 46.9% had high anxiety scores while only 1% of the controls had high scores.
Conclusion:Patients with CSCR have a thicker subfoveal choroid-pachychoroid than controls.
