Abstract

A 45 year old female presented in our OPD with progressive diminution of vision since childhood. Unaided VA OD was FC3m, OS was FC2 m and nystagmus present bilaterally .On Slit Lamp Examination the corneal horizontal diameter was 8.50 mm and corneal opacity inferiorly bilaterally. The refractive power of the cornea was 42 D(H), 35 D(V) in OD and 41.50 D(H), 39 D(V) in OS. The central corneal thickness was 576 µm(OD) and 638 µm(OS). AC depth was 2.6mm(OD) and 2.55mm(OS) and corrected IOP was 20mmHg(OD) and 12mmHg(OS). On posterior segment examination she had a cup:disc ratio of 0.4, tessellated fundus, myopic crescent, diffuse chorioretinal atrophic patches bilaterally. The axial length was 27.18 mm(OD) and 29.96 mm(OS) and B scan showed posterior staphyloma bilaterally. Since the patient had nystagmus, there was loss of fixation and little improvement with glasses. Guarded visual prognosis was explained to her. She was counselled for low vision aids.
