Abstract

Purpose- Diagnosing a case of upper eyelid mass- challenging differential diagnosis.
Case Report -A 76 year old male patient presented with painless rapid- growing mass of size 3cm in the right upper eyelid margin over last 7 months. Patient is a known case of chronic kidney disease.
Blood investigations were sent and a FNAC was done for the mass. MRI showed heterogenous exophytic soft tissue mass with possible extension into extraconal compartment.
Complete excisional biopsy was performed. The histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry confirmed sebaceous gland carcinoma.
Conclusion- Sebaceous gland carcinoma, a rare tumor possibly mimic other lesions, also in our case ignored elderly led to delay in diagnosis presenting as advanced stage of tumor. Completeness of tumor excision with multidisciplinary approach is important as metastasis and recurrences are more aggressive and carry a poor prognosis.
