Abstract

Purpose- To study the clinical presentation of blepharitis patients attending the OPD of a tertiary care hospital.Material & method-A cross sectional study was conducted from July 2022 to June 2023 on 120 patient of blepharitis ranging from 3 to 80 years of age.The demographic details, medical history & ophthalmological findings of the patients were recorded.Result-Among 120 patient,22 were children and 98 were adults with mean age of 42 years.Eyelid signs were found in 95 patients (79%), eyelash signs in 86 patients (71%),tear film instability in 42 patients(35%), conjunctival features in 90 patients(75%), corneal signs in 66 patients (55%), associated posterior blepharitis in 40 patients(33%), associated atopic & seborrheic dermatitis in 36 patients (30%). Conclusion -Blepharitis commonly occurs in adults.The diagnosis is based on clinical signs & symptoms.The control of symptoms & maintenance of lid hygiene is the mainstay of treatment
