Abstract
Study Design: Case report (descriptive study)
Purpose: To report a case of U/L combined anterior and posterior PHPV in a 9 year old female patient.
Methodology:This is a case report of a 9 year old female patient who presented at the outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital in Bangalore with white discoloration in right eye, diminution of vision and outward deviation since 6 months with no history of previous ocular trauma/surgery.
On examination, vision was CF at 1m in the right eye with exotropia. Anterior segment showed elongated ciliary processes and zonules with cataractous lens.The posterior segment showed tortuous vessels and phpv stalk inferiorly.BScan showed fibrovascular stalk originating from ONH leading to diagnosis of combined anterior and posterior PHPV.
Result: Patient underwent right eye cataract extraction with primary posterior capsulorrhexis,anterior vitrectomy with intraocular lens implantation
Conclusion:The child had a postoperative vision of 6/24.
