Abstract
Purpose: To compare efficacy after first dose of intravitreal ranibizumab and triamcinolone injections in BRVO patients. Methods: In this prospective study one eye each of 70 patients age(45 -70) are treated with intravitreal injections for macular edema secondary to BRVO. Group A(n=36)(0.5mg/0.05ml intravitreal ranibizumab), Group B(n=34)( 4mg/0.1ml intravitreal Triamcinolone).Study duration was 6 months. All patients are examined after ist dose of injections at 1 month keeping baseline with respect to BCVA,CMT and IOP. Results: BCVA increased significantly in both groups A and B, mean CMT decreased, however IOP increased in 3 patients of group B. Conclusion: There is no statistically significant difference between baseline and after ist dose of both group A and B. Patients of group B (IVTA) has significantly higher IOP values after 1 month with baseline.
