Abstract

A 65 years old male presented to our OPD with complaints of a mass in left eye gradually increasing in size associated with mild pain, foreign body sensation, discomfort on blinking,diminution of vision and cosmetic disfigurement for two months.He apparently noticed the mass after a trivial trauma to left eye.There was no prior ocular surgery in the same eye and no history of similar lesion in family.Ocular examination revealed an 8mmx4mm soft,firm,mobile,yellowish white solid mass involving cornea and inferonasal limbus of left eye with no visible vessels or other structures.Ocular USG showed a cystic lesion not taking vascularity on color Doppler.Fundoscopy and IOP were normal in both eyes.Mass was sent for histopathological analysis after excisional biopsy under local anaesthesia which confirmed the diagnosis of limbal dermoid in left eye.Topical medications were instilled alongwith oral anti inflammatory drugs and patient was asked to follow up in OPD after one week and one month.
