Abstract
A 46 years old Indian female presented with a painless swelling medial to medial canthus of the right eye which was gradually enlarging in size since last 20 years. It was not associated with watering of right eye.The mass was firm in consistency ,measuring 12 mm x 8 mm,not adherent to skin and non tender in nature.Syringing of lacrimal passage was done to rule out any adherence of mass with lacrimal passage. On CT scan,a mass was observed in right medial canthal area with no intra orbital or intra cranial extension. All haematological tests were within normal limit. The mass was excised en masse through an curvilinear incision under local anaesthesia. The mass excised in toto was sent for histopathological examination.Intraoperative syringing was found to be freely patent.Histopathology report revealed Stratified squamous epithelial lining with sebacious glands and was diagnosed as Dermoid cyst.Post operative follow up was done and no evidence of recurrence found.
