Abstract
With the advent of more aggressive chemotherapy regimens, incidence of ocular toxicity is on the rise. We report a series of 4 such cases of presumed chemotherapy-induced ocular adverse effects. A 32/y. female with blurring of vision in LE after 3 cycles of capecitabine for CA colon. BCVA of 20/30 with grade 1 RAPD. Fundus had disc edema and pigmentary changes. Another 58/y female with blurring of vision in RE after 14 cycles of Tamoxifen for CA Breast. BCVA of 20/40, fundus had myriad of tiny refractile intraretinal lesions at RPE level s/o Tamoxifen Retinopathy. Another 50/y male with blurring of vision in RE after 8 cycles of Daunorubicin for AML, BCVA of 20/40 with grade 1 RAPD, fundus had disc edema and SRF at macula. Another 62/y female on oxaliplatin for CA Stomach came with sudden onset ptosis of LE and fundus showed pigmentary changes. All patients showed improvement on reducing dose/changing causative drug. So, it’s important to identify before it causes irreversible damage.
