Abstract

A 41 year old male patient presented to the eye OPD, AMCH, complaining of blurring and diminution of vision. The diminution of vision was likely present since birth but was noted by his parents at 1 year of age. The patient was advised regular follow up and surgery. The diminution of vision was progressive and painless. He also complained of glare and distortion of image upon seeing bright light. The patient is a known case of hypertension since around 15 years, for which he is on regular medication. Slit lamp biomicroscopy showed deep anterior chamber and thinned, ectatic cornea with cataract, temporal subluxation of lens and phacodonesis in both the eyes. Keratometry showed values suggestive of keratoconus. After a thorough clinical examination and work up, the patient was diagnosed to be a case of keratoconus with nystagmus and cataract in both the eyes. Currently the patient is being managed conservatively and is planned for cataract surgery later on.
