Abstract

STUDY DESIGN : A case report
PURPOSE: To report a case of bilateral Subluxated Microspherophakia with Pupillary Block Glaucoma in a Marfan’s syndrome patient.
METHOD: A 19 year old female with Genu valgum, Arachnodactyly and High Arch Palate suggestive of Marfan’s Syndrome came with C/o Dimunition of vision in both eyesince childhood. C/o pain in RE since 15 days. History and occular examination including Refraction ,Gonioscopy and Fundus examination was done along with systemic examination.
RESULTS : On SLE showed shallow AC with iris bombe with clear lens at pupillary plane On Gonioscopy all the angles
were closed with IOP of 48mmhg.Left eye Inferior subluxated Microspherophakia was noted.
RE Yag PI was done followed by clear lens extraction under cover of IV Manitol, later anterior vitrectomy was done. CONCLUSION: Our case highlights the importance of thorough examination and regular follow ups in all cases of Marfan Syndrome for early intervention and timely rehabilitation.
