Abstract
24 year old male with history of trauma with wood splinter while cutting bamboo presented with progressive redness pain photophobia and lid swelling. Took locally prescribed steroid eyedrops from the local medicine shop after which situation further aggravated. On examination, progressive corneal ulceration with dense central infiltrate was present. Corneal scraping and conjunctival swab were sent. Report came back positive for rare ascomycota Pseudoallescheria Boydii. Patient was planned for penetrating keratoplasty and is presently under postoperative observation and medical treatment.
