Abstract
AIM: Efficacy of combination of compression sutures with intracameral gas insertion in management of acute hydrops in keratoconus. Case presentation:A 20-year-old male presented with photophobia, watering, sudden loss of vision in his right eye for 1 week.He was misdiagnosed elsewhere as viral keratitis and started on acyclovir for a week.visual acuity was cf 1/2meter right eye and 6/24 in the left eye.BCVA in right eye no improvement, left eye 6/9p. On slit lamp examination right eye showed mild conjunctival congestion, central corneal edema,AC normal depth.Fleischers ring, thinning of cornea,Pentacam left eye confirmed keratoconus.Topical steroids, hypertonic saline drops were started with no signs of resolution.Full-thickness compression corneal sutures, intracameral air injection was done with vision 6/24 at 1 week. Conclusion:Full thickness compression sutures with intracameral air injection helps in reducing corneal edema and early visual rehabilitation in acute hydrops
