Abstract
study design-presenting a single rare case Purpose-To report multiple challenges faced in managing a case of Aniridia Methods-A 22year old male came with c/o DOV in BE since 3 months. BCVA RE CF-1/2 mts LE 6/60mts.A/S BE Aniridia and Developmental cataract with lens coloboma (RE) lens was subluxated. Fundus-glaucomatous changes were evident. ATN Pressures were RE: 48mmhg LE : 30mmhg managed with IV mannitol.LE SICS + SFIOL with Aniridia lens was put but RE was left Aphakia because of poor patient affordability.On 1 month POD refraction RE with +9.00sph and LE with -3.25sph both improving to 6/18. Glaucoma managed with topical eyedrops. 3 weeks followup pressures showed (BE):18mmhg. hence continuing the eyedrops. Results : Patient had good visual recovery decreased photophobia and glare with the Anidia lens. Conclusion : Though Aniridia poses many challenges systematic approach and periodic followups helps prevent complications and might not necessitate glaucoma surgery as well.
