Abstract
Synopsis: In the modern era cataract surgery is rapidly evolving, mature white cataract still remains a challenging entity even for experienced surgeons. To get a continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis is considered to be the limiting step, particularly for the intumescent cataracts because of associated raised intralenticular pressure. White cataracts are divided into many subtypes like white pearly cataracts associated with the solid cortex, morgagnian cataracts, white cataracts with calcified or fibrosed anterior capsule and white intumescent cataract. The careful preoperative examination and investigations are very important to assess the subtype of white cataract. Here we present a series of cases of different subtypes of white cataracts and what modifications in our strategy are required to get an intact continous curvilinear capsulorrhexis for best visual and refractive outcome after cataract surgery.
