Abstract
Study:Hospital based retrospective study.Aim:To compare the visual outcomes in ISBCS by SICS and phaco.Methods:Patients were selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria under consent.With strict ISBCS protocols a total of 1336 eyes underwent surgery from period june 2020 to December 2022.Results: SICS and phaco was done in 578 and 758 eyes respectively.On Post op one month follow up 95.67% and 96.18% achieved targeted refraction is ≤0.50D by SICS and phaco methods respectively.The complications had in our study were posterior capsular rent in 0.37%,transient corneal edema in 0.44% and transient DM folds in 3.52% of eyes.Conclusion:This is the first-of-its-study to perform ISBCS by SICS method and to compare visual outcomes with phaco.This study found that there is no statistically significant difference in visual outcome between these two methods.There are no sight threatening complications reported.this study had good visual outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
