Abstract
Aim: to study relationship with topical antiglaucoma medications and the development of lacrimal drainage system obstruction in tertiary care Centre of Jharkhand. Method: cross-sectional controlled study was conducted in tertiary care Centre of Jharkhand included 390 patients. complete eye examination was done. patients with previous intraocular surgery, lacrimal surgery, ocular or periocular trauma, radiation therapy, mucous membrane disorder, untreated blepharitis were excluded. diagnostic probing and irrigation test were performed. Results: there were added 122 eyes of 94 patients in case and 274 eyes of 174 patients in control group after exclusion. there was significantly more lacrimal drainage system obstruction in the case group (23 of 122) than in control group (20 of 274). upper lacrimal drainage system obstruction was significantly more in case group. Conclusion: patients taking combination of antiglaucoma medications are at risk of lacrimal drainage system obstruction.
