Abstract
Prospective study of 100 pseudophakic eyes (M: F-4:1, Age60 ±10 yrs.) with H/O blunt ocular trauma (Sept22-May23) was done.PURPOSE- To Determine prognostic factors for final visual outcome in pseudophakic eyes sustaining blunt ocular trauma.METHOD- History, time of presentation, baseline VA, type of injury, ocular findings recorded, and Ocular Trauma score (OTS) calculated. Post op Vision recorded. RESULT- Finger trauma was the most common mode of injury. Subconjunctival
haemorrhage (10), corneal abrasion (25), Hyphaema (20), IOL extrusion (15), iridodialysis (18), PC rupture with vitreous loss (12) was seen. Delayed surgery, Low OTS, poor baseline vision, larger injury size, globe rupture and RAPD were indicators of poor visual outcome (p value<0.05).CONCLUSION-faster intervention and proper counselling improved the final visual outcome in most of the patients.
