Abstract
INTRODUCTION:TO STUDY DISTRIBUTION OF FOREIGN BODIES ACCORDING TO EXTENDED BETTS CLASSIFICATION
METHOD: AFTER HAVING PERMISSION FROM ETHICAL COMMITTEE WE RETRIVED DATA FROM ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD IN SPECIFIC FORMAT USING EXCEL SHEET AND ANALYSED WITH SPSS 22. DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSES AND CROSS TABULATION FUNCTION HAS BEEN USED TO ANALYSE AND P<0.05 CONSIDERED SIGNIFICANT.
RESULT: OUR COHORT CONSISTED OF 1006 EYES 76.6% M AND 23.4% F, 51.2% RE, 47.4% LE AND 1.1% BE
OUT OF TOTAL 971 GLOBAL AND 35 ADNEXAL FB.3.3% IOFB,0.6% ORBITAL, 78.7% OCULAR SURFACE FOREIGN BODIES,14.5% INTRA MURAL FOREIGN BODIES 23.7% WERE IN CHILDREN 30% DURING JOB WORK,11.9% DURING TRNSPORT17.9% HOME WORK
TREATMENT CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN VISION
CONCLUSION:FOREIGNBODY CAN BE AT ANY PLACE IN EYE AND ADNEXA, REMOVAL AND TREATMENT CAUSE SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN VISION.
