Abstract

Purpose- This report describes a clinical manifestations of ocular rhinosporidiosis & it's management. Introduction- Rhinosporidiosis is a chronic infective disorder caused by Rhino sporidium seeberi.It usually presents as a soft polypoidal pedunculated or sessile mass.It commonly affects mucus membranes namely the nasal mucosa, pharynx & the conjunctiva.Case presentation- A 12 yr male who presented with a red fleshy papillomatous growth about 6mm×4mm arising from the tarsal conjunctiva of the right upper eyelid.H/o of pond bath. Method-Ocular examination includes VA,BCVA, slit lamp biomicroscopy done.Results-Test showed in right upper tarsal conjunctiva polypoidal mass,it didn't bleeding touch.There were small whitish round to oval spots on surface of lesion.The growth was excised under LA.On histopathological examination multiple sporangia were seen in various stages of development.Conclusion- Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis.No recurrence of lesion seen.
