Abstract

Aim:to report visual outcomes and Image Quality metrics in eyes with positive spherical aberration based EDOF IOL.
Methods:it's a retrospective case series where subjects implanted with EDOF(RayOne, Rayner) and monofocal IOL,age between 40-80 years old were enrolled.Subject with any intraoperative complication,ocular pathology, corneal astigmatism >-1.5 D were excluded.At one month post operative follow up, uncorrected visual acuity for distance and near, higher order aberrations and modulation transfer function for 4mm fixed size pupil were recorded using I trace aberrometer. Two sample t tes was used to compare the means between two groups.
Results:32 eyes and 20 eyes were implanted with EDOF and monofocal IOL respectively.We did not find any significant difference in HOA between monofocal and EDOF IOL.Also MTF were similar at spatial frequencies of 5,10,15, 20,25 CPD.Conclusion:EDOF IOL with positive spherical aberrations was found to be comparable to monofocal IOL for HOA and MTF.
