Abstract

PURPOSE :- To determine the clinical profile, progression and the outcome of management in patients with Rhino-Oculo-Cerebral Mucormycosis. METHODS:- This is a Prospective, Observational study . Covid 19 patients with Rhino-Oculo-Cerebral Mucormycosis are included in this study. RESULTS:- The mean age of patients was 50.5 years. 83.3% patients presented with gradual onset periorbital swelling and diminution of vision. Out of total 12 patients included in the study , 5 patients died in DCH itself while undergoing treatment for covid (41.7%), 5 patients improved with the treatment (41.7%), 1 patient was given retro-bulbar amphotericin (3.5mg/ml – total =1ml) and 1 patient had to undergo debridement of maxillary antrum and exenteration of the affected eye. Around 8 patients were known case of diabetes mellitus(66.7%)
