Abstract
Aim: To study the OCT Optic Nerve Head & Retinal Nerve Fiber analysis in Benign Intracranial Hypertension.
Method and materials: Prospective study with a sample size-10, of who attended a tertiary eye care center on an outpatient basis from October 2022 to June 2023. Benign Intracranial Hypertension cases were followed on OCT ONH & RNFL to determine the reduction or failure to medical management.
Results: 1 patient had an increase in RNFL thickness in spite of maximal medical therapy, and 4 patients had to restart medical treatment after discontinuation of medical treatment. The rest had a stable RNFL thickness on medical treatment.
Conclusion: OCT is a non-invasive diagnostic and prognostic modality in the treatment of Benign Intracranial Hypertension. Most of the patients resolved with medical management and few cases had to undergo shunt procedure in spite of prompt medical management based on the refractile RNFL thickness on repeated OCT‘s.
