Abstract

Study design-case report.Purpose-To highlight an unusual presentation of craniopharyngioma.Method-A 20-year male presented with gradual decrease in vision in BE, intermittent headache and vomiting for the past 5 years, which was worsened since last 20 days. Proper history and detailed systemic examination revealed presence of delayed puberty and stunted growth. Hormonal assay was suggestive of multiple endocrinopathies. His BCVA was 6/9P and HM+ in RE and LE respectively. He had a 14 PD left exotropia, grade2 RAPD in LE and diffuse disc pallor in BE(LE>>RE). HVF (24-2) of RE revealed a presumed junctional scotoma. CEMRI brain was suggestive of a craniopharyngioma. He underwent a right craniotomy with excision of tumor. Conclusion-Craniopharyngioma is suspected in young patients having above mentioned features with multiple endocrinopathies and MRI findings.
