Abstract
Manual-Small-Incision-Cataract Surgery is one of the most basic surgical methods for cataract extraction & widely practised one
It needs basic surgical sets only
It gives very good surgical result in skillful hands
Proper superior rectus bridle suture application for smooth nucleus delivery, minimal scleral cautery to avoid scleral bed necrosis, staining of anterior capsule for Continuous Curvilinear Capsulorhexis in white-cataracts, symmetrical relaxing incisions to CCC to avoid any extension, center of frown-incision 1.5- 2mm away from limbus, adequare depth of groove taking scleral thickness into consideration, entry of keratome into AC with dimpling of underlying layers of cornea, bathing nucleus into " SEA OF VISCO-ELASTICS" to avoid corneal-edema are important steps
Engaging nucleus into irrigating-vectis &, then, switching on the irrigation for smooth delivery of nucleus is must
Thorough irrigation & aspiration, and gentle intra-ocular lens implant in bag are indicated
